This workshop brings together scholars working on illustrated chronicles and other
primarily secular texts produced in both the Western and Persian medieval period.
The workshop aims to explore issues of the choice of texts for illustration, the
choices of scenes to illustrate, and the purpose for which the illustrations were
made.
