“Le Livre de la Cour des Bourgeois” n’a pas connu de nos jours de réédition : l’édition de référence reste donc celle de Victor Foucher datant des années 1830-1840. Face à ce nouvel engouement, il nous paraît normal à notre tour de réhabiliter les Assises de Jérusalem en France, en proposant une rencontre pluridisciplinaire entre différents chercheurs internationaux afin de faire le point sur le sujet et soulever de nouvelles problématiques.

The conference will examine, analyze and evaluate the state of Iraq and Iraqi studies at the contemporary historical moment.  Participants should present scholarly research on current conditions within and around the academic study of Iraq, focusing on areas as diverse as political science, economics, sociology, anthropology, education, media/communications and cultural studies.

8. Workshop: “Toward a Transnational History of Turkish Studies (18th-20th Centuries)”, Institut Français d’Études Anatoliennes, Istanbul, 12-13 November 2015

The workshop’s goal is to canvass a history of Turkish studies in the long term by bringing together case studies with different scales of analysis—local, national and international. Although the main focus of the workshop will be the years 1850 to 1950, papers considering the 18th century as well as the late 20th century are also welcome. Travel and subsistence expenses will be covered.

The Vehbi Koç Ankara Studies Research Center (VEKAM) shall provide financial support to a minimum 5 ongoing researches on the urban development, social, corporate, institutional and economic history, culture and cultural heritage of Ankara and its vicinity  for a maximum amount of TL 10,000 for each project in 2015.

17. Dissertation Award and Graduate Paper Prize for Gulf Studies by AGAPS  

The Association for Gulf and Arabian Peninsula Studies (AGAPS) is accepting manuscripts for consideration for its 2015 Best Dissertation Award and Best Graduate Paper Prize. AGAPS welcomes dissertations from across the disciplines and a variety of perspectives. They must primarily focus on the Arabian Peninsula, but can be inclusive of the transnational flows of people, material and ideas across the Gulf, Red Sea, and Indian Ocean.
